
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two people are in custody after a man was stabbed during an argument in Washington Square Park on Monday night, authorities said.
At about 7:45 p.m., police responded to a call of a fight at the park where officers found a 21-year-old man had been stabbed in the abdomen.
Sources told 1010 WINS that the incident began with a 21-year-old man and an unknown suspect getting into a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical fight.
The attacker then pulled out a knife, stabbing the man as he attempted to run away, according to the Daily News.
The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
