NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – An enraged man stabbed a subway rider because the victim sat next to him on a 3 train in Brooklyn on Thursday night, police said.
The attack happened shortly after 9:40 p.m. near the Saratoga Avenue station in Brownsville.
A witness told police that the suspect grew angry at another man for "sitting next to him" on the train.
He got up, brandished an unknown weapon and stabbed the 35-year-old victim in the neck, according to police.
The attacker fled the train and remained at large on Friday.
The victim was transported in stable condition to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center.
He was being uncooperative with investigators, police said.
