NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A teen volunteer was stabbed by a man Wednesday afternoon at a soup kitchen in Brooklyn, police said Thursday as they searched for his attacker.
The 17-year-old victim was serving food at Masbia of Flatbush on Coney Island Avenue in Midwood around 3:30 p.m. when a disorderly man in his 40s entered the soup kitchen, according to police.
The man was escorted outside, where he stabbed the teen in the stomach, with a sharp object, police said.
The victim was transported to Maimonides Medical Center and is expected to survive.
The suspect fled the scene and remained at large Thursday.
