
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man was struck by a train and critically injured Thursday as he walked on subway tracks in the Bronx, police said.
The man was walking on B/D tracks near the Fordham Road station around 8:50 a.m. when he was hit by a train.
The train operator saw him on the tracks but was unable to stop in time, police said.
He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was in critical condition with severe head trauma and lacerations to his body and face.
B train service was suspended in both directions around 10 a.m. and remained suspended until 2 p.m., when it resumed with delays.
