Man suffers fractured nose in unprovoked anti-Asian attack on LES

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force is searching for a suspect they said fractured a man's nose and chipped his tooth during an unprovoked attack last month on the Lower East Side.

At about 1:40 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, a 30-year-old man was walking in the vicinity of Stanton Street and Ludlow Street when he was approached by the suspect, officials said.

According to police the suspect then made anti-Asian remarks and proceeded to punch the victim multiple times in the head in an unprovoked attack.

The suspect fled the location in an unknown direction.

The victim sought medical attention by private means for a chipped tooth and fractured nose.

This incident is being investigated.
