NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man tackled an MTA worker who was clearing out a train in Queens late Sunday, police said.

The worker, who is in his 50s, was attacked just before midnight at the Middle Village–Metropolitan Avenue station on the M line, according to police.

The worker was clearing the train of passengers at the stop, which is the end of the line, when the man tackled him to the ground, police said.

The worker suffered back pain and was hospitalized at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center.

The suspect fled and was still at large on Monday.

The worker is just the latest MTA employee attacked in recent weeks. The latest assaults included a worker getting sprayed in the eyes at a Bronx station and a worker getting punched in the face for waking a man in Queens.
