NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man hurled a can of beans—and anti-Muslim insults—at a woman in a suspected hate crime at an Upper East Side subway station, police said Thursday.

Surveillance images from the NYPD Hate Crime Task Force show the man wanted in last Thursday’s attack at the Lexington Avenue–63rd Street station.

The 22-year-old woman was entering the station at 6 p.m. when the man threw the can of beans at her and made anti-Muslim remarks, police said.

The can missed the woman, and she was not physically hurt.

The suspect fled the scene and boarded a train, police said. Video shows him hopping a subway turnstile around the time of the attack.
