NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man tried to lure a girl with a Nintendo gaming console as he followed her through the streets near a junior high school in Brooklyn last week, police said Friday as they released an image of the suspect.

The 12-year-old girl was walking near I.S. 62 Ditmas in Kensington at 2 p.m. on Oct. 5, when the man followed her down E. 8th Street, according to police.

At some point, the man approached the girl and offered her a Nintendo Switch in an attempt to lure her, police said.

She ran away, but the man continued to follow her, according to police.

She eventually managed to escape and was not physically injured, police said as the search for the suspect continues.
