Cops searching for man who used pepper spray to rob UWS smoke shop

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who robbed an Upper West Side smoke shop using pepper spray last week.

The thief brandished pepper spray at the 25-year-old man behind the desk at Millenium Smoke and News on Broadway near West 85th Street around 2:07 p.m. on April 2, officials said.

The store clerk handed over about $1,000 in cash and about $500 worth of products, and the robber fled on foot.

No one was injured during the robbery.
