NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Police are searching for a man who was captured on video using a claw-like device to shatter an MTA digital display screen at the Columbus Circle subway station this month.

The NYPD released surveillance footage of the suspect Monday as the search for him continued in the Oct. 9 vandalism.

Video shows him using a U-shaped device that resembles coal tongs to chisel away at the screen's glass around 1 a.m. on a platform at the 59th Street–Columbus Circle station in Midtown.

He also appears to rip down paper MTA service signs on the platform.

The screen was damaged, but no injuries were reported, police said.
