NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released photos Sunday of a suspect wanted for beating and mugging a man in Manhattan this month in what cops called an anti-Hispanic robbery.

It happened in East Harlem near E. 116th Street and Third Avenue at about 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, officials said.

The suspect approached the 31-year-old victim and made anti-Hispanic remarks before punching and kicking him, police said. He then snatched the victim’s wallet, containing about $200 and personal items.

Authorities said the suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction, and EMS took the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition.

The suspect is described by police as a 6-foot-tall man with a slim build, medium-length black hair and a black goatee between the ages of 25 and 36.

He was last seen wearing a black and gray jacket, sweatpants and white shoes.

This incident is being investigated by the NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
