NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police released suspect photos this week to aid their search for a man accused of punching a Bronx bus driver in the face last month.
A 42-year-old MTA bus driver was aboard a southbound BX 3 bus at University Avenue and West Fordham Road in University Heights at about 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, when he was approached by the suspect.
The man began a verbal argument with the driver, before police said he became “irate” and punched the victim in the face.
EMS transported the driver to St. Barnabas Hospital for treatment after he suffered pain and a laceration to the lip.
The suspect hopped off the bus and fled in an unknown direction. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, white t-shirt, multicolored hat, dark-colored pants and white sneakers, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
