NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police have identified the man accused of ripping the necklace off a 96-year-old woman in Harlem last May, officials said Thursday as they released a photo of the suspect.
At approximately 5:25 p.m. on Friday, May 24, the woman was in the vicinity of West 127 Street and Eighth Avenue when she was approached by the 30-year-old Pascual Ballestero on a moped.
The suspect then snatched a necklace from the victim's neck, causing the woman to fall to the ground, officials said.
The suspect then fled the location on the black moped, traveling eastbound on West 127th Street.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.
