NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who injured a police officer by speeding off during a traffic stop in the Bronx last week.
Officers had pulled over a Mercedes Benz with Pennsylvania plates that had blown through a red light at the corner of East 173 Street and Clay Avenue in Claremont on Jan. 24 around 5:10 p.m., according to officials.

The man also hit five vehicles as he fled — two occupied parked vehicles and three unoccupied.
Police found the car abandoned soon after the incident.
The injured officer was taken to the NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center for treatment and has since been released.
