
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man armed with a hockey stick randomly assaulted a woman as she walked down a street in the East Village, police said Thursday as they released video of the suspect.
The 26-year-old woman was walking on East 6th Street, just west of Avenue A, at 10:30 p.m. on April 9 when the man went on the attack unprovoked, according to cops.
He struck her in the leg with the hockey stick and then took off eastbound on East 6th Street, police said.
EMS treated the victim at the scene.

Video shows the suspect carrying a hockey stick around the time of the attack.
