Excited fans, beaming with hope for the new season, streamed into Citi Field from the 7 train as the Amazins returned home in their white pinstripe uniforms.
Both the Mets and Marlins will go into the game 3-4 this season.
After a rough series in Milwaukee, it was a new start for the Mets at Citi Field, where there's a giant new scoreboard and menu items like a chicken sandwich from Jacobs Pickles that has glazed donuts as buns.
The home opener was originally scheduled for Thursday, but the game was postponed over a stormy forecast.
Friday's weather was chilly and breezy, but fans made do with layers of orange and blue.
