NEW YORK (1010 WINS) –  The family of 21-year-old Markeysha Sadlier is asking for help in finding their daughter, who has been missing since last Friday, just one day after Halloween.

Markeysha, who has autism and recently underwent brain surgery, left her Roosevelt Island home without her phone, medication, or any cash.

She was last seen wearing a black denim jacket, white sneakers, and carrying a brown leather purse. Markeysha is known for her long braids and glasses.

Her adoptive parents, Amanda and Dan Sadlier, run a soup kitchen in Queens.

“She left with absolutely nothing,” Amanda told 1010 WINS. “No phone, no cash hasn't used her debit card and to just go off the grid completely doesn't make sense because she is very trusted. To just go off the grid completely doesn’t make sense.”

The parents explained that she is very trusting.

“There's just a lot of signs that she has been potentially lured away,” Dan said.

The couple believes Markeysha may be in danger and is pleading with New Yorkers to remain vigilant.

“Keep your eyes out, call if you think you see her at all,” Amanda urged. “New Yorkers are the best, and we know that they take care of their own, and she’s one of their own.”

The Roosevelt Island community has joined the family in their search, posting flyers and coordinating efforts to locate Markeysha. Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities immediately.
