Armed men rob Buddhist monks at temple near Prospect Park

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Armed robbers held up Buddhist monks at a temple near Prospect Park on Sunday, police said.

Three men used a back door to enter the Watt Samaki temple on Rugby Road in Prospect Park South shortly before 2:30 p.m.

Once inside, they stole property and money at gunpoint from several monks, police said.

They were last seen fleeing northbound on Rugby Road.

None of the monks were injured in the robbery.

No arrests had been reported Monday as the investigation continued.
