
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A moped driver was hospitalized after he was critically injured in a crash on the FDR Drive Sunday evening, authorities said.
Just after 5 p.m., the moped driver was riding down the southbound lanes of the highway when he crashed into a Honda Pilot near Rutgers Street, police said.
The man was riding in a crew of people on similar bikes, sources told the Daily News.
The driver was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.
The Honda driver refused medical attention.
All southbound lanes of the FDR Drive were closed at the Brooklyn Bridge after the crash, as police continued an investigation.
