NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The MTA on Thursday approved toll hikes for its nine bridges and tunnels.
The following toll hikes are set to take effect in April, the agency said in a press release:
The agency didn't immediately provide an exact date on which the hikes will take effect.
The hikes are "expected to raise $62 million in 2021 and $116 million annually as of 2022, the first full year [they are] in place," the agency said in the release.
"Continuing the pattern of regular toll increases every other year that has been in place since 2009, the MTA Board today approved the increase, which will raise current tolls rates by an average of 7.08 percent to yield a 6 percent increase in revenue and preserves the resident discount programs," the agency added.
