NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Five people were injured when a crane collided with an MTA bus in Queens on Tuesday morning.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. at Amboy Lane and Springfield Boulevard in Queens Village.

The operator of an Overland crane was traveling southbound on Springfield Boulevard when he struck the Q88 bus as the bus driver was making a left from Amboy Lane onto northbound Springfield Boulevard.

The 46-year-old bus driver and his three female passengers—ages 23, 51 and 59—were taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital Valley Stream and treated for minor injuries.

The 53-year-old male crane operator was treated at the scene, according to authorities.

The investigation is ongoing, but police believe the crane operator misjudged how soon he should've stopped.
