The 59-year-old bus driver was traveling southbound on 238th Street when he struck a man riding an e-bike traveling eastbound on 128th Avenue just before 10:40 a.m., authorities said.

The man suffered injuries to his head and body, and he was pronounced dead on the scene, according to officials.

The bus driver stayed on the scene, and he was not immediately charged following the incident, police said.

Sources told 1010 WINS that the MTA is withholding the driver from service until an internal review and the NYPD investigation are concluded.

“This was a tragic incident and we are cooperating with the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad, which is in early stages of its review and will determine the facts,” said MTA Bus Company President Frank Annicaro in a statement.
