MTA conductor punched in face unprovoked at Grand Central; suspect sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police released a photo of a man wanted for punching an MTA conductor in the face in an unprovoked attack at Grand Central Thursday evening.

It happened at approximately 7:45 p.m., when an on-duty 55-year-old MTA employee was looking out of the conductors' window while onboard a stopped northbound 5 train at the 42nd Street-Grand Central station.

According to officials, the man punched the victim in the face then fled the location on foot in an unknown direction.

EMS responded and transported the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
