NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two officers were injured Tuesday night when NYPD and MTA vehicles crashed inside the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, police said.

The vehicles—an NYPD cruiser and an MTA Bridges and Tunnels SUV—collided just before 11 p.m. inside the Queens-bound tube.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but ultimately ended with the MTA vehicle flipping over into the NYPD car, police said.

Both officers were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

The tunnel was closed for about an hour as police investigated.
