NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials charged three off-duty MTA workers caught graffitiing a van on a Brooklyn street, authorities said Wednesday.

According to police, the men were caught in Greenpoint on Tuesday, at about 11:20 p.m. near the corner of Wythe Avenue and N 14th Street.

Thomas Gross, 45, Robert Stentella, 35, and Matthew Gunther, 43, were charged with making graffiti, possession of graffiti instruments and criminal mischief.

Officials additionally charged Gunther with criminal possession of a weapon after police found him with a knife, authorities said.

Gross works as an MTA cleaner, and Stentella as a structures maintainer, officials said. Public records show that Gunther is a maintenance supervisor for the agency's sheet metal division.

At least one of the men had an ongoing dispute with the van's owner, a source told the Daily News.

The three men were given desk appearance tickets at Brooklyn Criminal Court at a later date.
