NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — The Neil Diamond musical "A Beautiful Noise" is closing on Broadway come June, producers announced Thursday, ahead of a North American tour set to begin this fall.
The show, which premiered on Broadway Dec. 4, 2022, will hold its final performance at the Broadhurst Theater on June 30, giving New Yorkers and tourists alike 18 more weeks to see the performance.
When the curtain drops at the final show, "A Beautiful Noise" will have completed 657 regular Broadway performances.
"Neil’s music has brought unadulterated joy to billions of people across the world," producer Ken Davenport said in a statement. "Everyone at A Beautiful Noise is proud to say that we had a small hand in telling his inspiring life story on Broadway and sharing in that jubilation with our audiences.”
The show—produced by Davenport and Bob Gaudio, directed by Michael Mayer and starring Nick Fradiani as Diamond during the height of his career—follows the music icon and includes hits like “Sweet Caroline,” “America” and “Solitary Man.”
According to Deadline, Davenport and Gaudio said that production has grossed $63 million as of this week, despite last week’s attendance topping out at 65% capacity.
The North American tour will kick off in Providence, Rhode Island.
“As the North American tour prepares to launch this fall, I look forward to A Beautiful Noise spreading the love to countless others,” Davenport said.
