NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A newly-painted mural in the Bronx honors Lesandro "Junior" Guzman Feliz, the teenager who was stabbed to death outside a bodega three years ago.

Artist Efran Andaluz painted the mural in the Belmont section of the Bronx.

Andaluz previously paid tribute to late rapper DMX with a mural in the East Bronx.

Five gang members were found guilty of murder in connection with Guzman-Feliz’ death in June 2019. Authorities said the group targeted the teen because they mistakenly believed he was part of a rival gang.

Andaluz told 1010 WINS he chose the image he based the mural on after speaking with Guzman-Feliz’ mother, Leandra Feliz.

“I’ve seen a few images that I liked, but this one had the best resolution and he was kind of looking straight at you, so I wanted his eyes to pierce you," Andaluz said.

"And he was actually in his school uniform, so I showed her, and she actually liked it, and I said let’s just go with this because it’s who he was,” he added.
