NEW VIDEO: Cops search for vandal who defaced Biggie Smalls mural in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police released new video Thursday of the person suspected of defacing a mural of the Notorious B.I.G. in Brooklyn last month.

The mural of the late rapper, located at Fulton Street and St. James Place in Clinton Hill, was vandalized in the early morning hours of Aug. 26.

The artwork, which depicts a profile of the musician, was splashed with black paint, police said. The words “East Coast” were also written in red spray-paint.

The rapper also known as the Notorious B.I.G. was born Christopher Wallace and grew up near the mural's location. He was killed in 1997 in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles at 24 years old.
