NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A New Jersey school board member resigned after more than 100 people saw her use the bathroom during a Zoom meeting earlier this week, according to reports.
Hackensack school board member Frances Cogelja brought her laptop into the bathroom with her during a board meeting on Monday night without realizing the camera was on, the Hackensack Daily Voice reported.
Nearly 150 people, including students, were attending the virtual meeting when the incident happened, the outlet reported.
Cogelja resigned on Tuesday, according to the outlet. Board President Lancelot Powell told NorthJersey.com the board “had a long history of issues [with Cogelja] and we here at Hackensack want to do what’s best for the community and our kids.”
“After last night, all I can say is we wish her the best,” he said.
Last year, Cogelja said she was “disgusted and appalled” by a push to teach LGBT history in New Jersey schools, the outlet reported. She also reportedly refused to vote on an anti-racism resolution at a meeting this past June, saying she had a “conflict due to an ongoing investigation in the district of which I am inadvertently a part of.”
Cogelja told the New York Post she would “not have a statement” regarding the Zoom incident.
