NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A New Jersey woman died nearly a month after a FedEx van hit her as she was walking on the Upper East Side, the NYPD said Thursday.
Debbie Friedman, 64, of Edgewater, was in the crosswalk at East 76th Street and Madison Avenue around 1 p.m. on March 30 when a FedEx delivery van driver turning left onto the avenue from East 76th Street struck her, police said.
Friedman was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center with severe head trauma, the NYPD said She was pronounced dead on Tuesday, according to police.
The 47-year-old woman who was driving the FedEx van stayed at the scene after she hit Friedman and has not been charged, the NYPD said.
An investigation is ongoing, police said.
