NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A New York City Department of Correction officer was arrested Tuesday in the Bronx and charged with assault, the NYPD said, for reportedly beating up his niece.
Darinn LaForey, 38, punched his 25-year-old niece and slammed her to the floor during an argument inside her home in the Bronx on Dec. 9., according to The Daily News.
It is unclear what the pair were arguing about.
The niece did not suffer any serious injuries but was in pain. She reported the incident to the NYPD.
LaForey's arraignment is pending.
