NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A New York City teacher was arrested for allegedly making sexually suggestive comments in a classroom.

Patrick Longsworth, 51, was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, police said Thursday.

Police said three female students reported him for making them uncomfortable.

It's unclear at this time whether he made the alleged comments to the class or directed them toward individual students.

It’s also unclear which school was involved, but sources said Longsworth was most recently a teacher at MS 136 in Brooklyn.

"The behavior described in the allegation is completely unacceptable, and the matter will be fully and thoroughly investigated," Department of Education spokesperson Jenna Lyle said in a statement. "This employee is being reassigned away from the school and students pending the outcome of the arrest and if convicted, we will pursue his termination. There is nothing more important than the safety and well-being of our students."
