NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 33-year-old NYCHA employee was hit by a stray bullet while picking up trash outside of the Brooklyn complex Thursday, police said.

The victim was outside of the Red Hook Houses on Columbia St. near Bush St. around 10:55 a.m. when the shooting happened, according to officials.
A stray bullet hit the man in the thigh while another 52-year-old man, believed to be the intended target, was shot in the chest, authorities said.
Both of the victims were taken to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. The NYCHA worker was treated for a minor wound while the other victim is in critical condition.
No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing. A pistol and shell casings were recovered from the scene.
