NEW YORK (1010 WINS/ WCBS 880 NEWS) – The NYPD in collaboration with the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault announced on Wednesday that all publicly accessible police department facilities will now feature "Sexual Violence Survivor Resource Guide" posters which will include a QR code linking to free online resources.

The resources include helplines, family services, healthcare, financial support, and legal options.

"All survivors of these heinous crimes deserve the best support and guidance that we can provide," Police Commissioner Edward A. Caban said. "This new tool safely delivers a compendium of information that is immensely useful to anyone who has experienced, or is still experiencing, these horrors."

The Alliance members put together a 52-page resource guide and collaborated with the NYPD Special Victims Division on ways to connect people quickly and safely to services.

The QR code on the guide, scannable by any cellphone camera, is also on smaller cards for easy distribution, according to the release.

The resource guides will be available in all NYPD precincts, transit districts, and police service areas and can be viewed and downloaded at The Alliance's website.

"We want all New Yorkers to know: If you or someone you know experiences any form of sexual violence – from sexual assault, child sexual abuse, cyber sexual violence, or sexual harassment – there is support for you," said Emily Miles, Executive Director of the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault.
