NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An NYPD lieutenant was arrested last month for allegedly beating up his ex-girlfriend in Brooklyn after he became jealous that she talked to other men at a party, according to a report.

Officials arrested Lt. Alexander Bobo on Aug 15 for punching the woman and pulling her hair extension out of her head on Clarkson Avenue near E 91st Street in Brownsville, according to a criminal complaint.

The attack happened after a party that Bobo attended with the woman, whom he had dated for four years, sources told The Daily News.

Bobo got upset that the woman had been speaking with other men that night, the outlet added.

According to a criminal complaint, Bobo then grabbed the woman's phone and tossed it out the window of his car, and began punching her.

He grabbed the woman's attached ponytail, ripped it out of her head before throwing it, according to the source.

When the victim began crying out for help, Bobo closed the car window so that she couldn't be heard, the complaint added.

"The allegations are completely false and once all the facts come to light he will be fully vindicated," said Bobo's defense attorney Cary London.
