NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Police said they are trying to identify two people who stole multiple wallets at train stations throughout New York City between June and August.
The robberies occurred on three different occasions, according to the NYPD.
The first incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on June 10, police said. Two suspects approached a 64-year-old man before grabbing the victim’s wallet out of his hands on the West 23rd Street and 8th Avenue A train station in Chelsea.
Two months later on Aug. 4, at around 1:45 a.m., both suspects stole money from a 46-year-old man’s backpack on a southbound R train near the DeKalb Avenue and Flatbush Avenue station in Downtown Brooklyn, according to police.
Two days later, on Aug. 6 at 4:05 a.m., the same suspects and four other individuals forcibly took a 35-year-old man’s wallet from his pants pocket and punched him several times.
That incident happened near the D train station at St. Nicholas Avenue and West 145th Street in Harlem.
The victims in the June 10 and Aug. 4 incidents did not sustain any injuries during the robberies, according to police.
The man in the Aug. 6 incident sustained injuries but was taken to Metropolitan Hospital Center in East Harlem to be treated.
