NYPD officer hurt during chase on Brooklyn-Queens Expressway; 3 patrol cars struck

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An NYPD officer was hurt during a chase on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway overnight Friday, authorities said.

The chase began when officers saw a suspect breaking into a car in Brooklyn, then followed the suspect onto the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, officials said.

There were three police vehicles struck during the pursuit, cops said.

The driver fled the officers at Exit 23, police said.

An officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital, police said.

No other information was released by police.
