NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – An on-duty NYPD officer was knocked off a scooter as he escorted three motorcyclists out of Central Park over the holiday weekend, police said.

The NYPD released images Tuesday of the trio of male suspects they're searching for in last Friday afternoon's attack at West Drive and West 90th Street, just west of the park's Reservoir.

The officer was riding a marked NYPD scooter and escorting the males out of the park shortly after 4 p.m. when one of them hit him with a motorcycle, causing him to fall from the vehicle to the pavement, police said.

The motorcyclists quickly fled the scene, leaving the injured officer on the ground.

He was transported to Mount Sinai Morningside, where he was treated for minor injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
