NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – The NYPD released images Friday of a suspected wanted for sucker punching a police officer near City Hall last month.

The officer was on duty at Ann Street and Broadway in Lower Manhattan around 8:35 p.m. on Feb. 29, when the suspect came up from behind and punched him with a closed fist, police said.

The officer was treated for minor injuries. The suspect fled the scene.

The attack came as police and pro-Palestinian protesters clashed in Lower Manhattan during a gala on Wall Street featuring Gov. Kathy Hochul.
