NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD came to the rescue of a dog that was found struggling to stay afloat in Jamaica Bay on Wednesday morning.
Members of the department's Harbor Unit were patrolling the waters when they spotted the dog.
They quickly pulled the dog from the freezing water and wrapped her in a blanket, the NYPD Special Ops account tweeted.
The dog, named Tinkerbell, was treated at a local vet before being reunited with her owner.
"Tinkerbell is in great health & is looking forward to sleeping all day," the NYPD said.
