NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A murder victim's remains were discovered in a Staten Island park earlier this year — and police are asking for the public's help identifying him, the NYPD said Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the NYPD released renderings of the clothes, shoes and headband the victim was wearing when he died.

The victim stood between 4-foot-11 and 5-foot-5 and was wearing a brown headband, a blue long-sleeved shirt, a white shirt emblazoned with the words "Island All Star Cheerleader" and brown Timberland boots at his time of death, police said.

The city's Medical Examiner deemed the victim's death a murder on April 1, the NYPD said.

Anyone with information about the victim's death is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
