NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Someone cut an NYPD vehicle's brake line before its driver got into a fender-bender in Queens earlier this month, the department said Tuesday.
An NYPD member was driving a Transit District 20 vehicle at the intersection of Queens Boulevard and Union Turnpike in Forest Hills on Oct. 7 when the car hit a parked car, police said.
No one was injured, and the police vehicle was taken to a repair shop, the NYPD said.
On Tuesday, the shop notified the NYPD that the vehicle's driver-side brake line had been cut prior to the accident, the department said.
Police believe a vandal or vandals intentionally cut the brake line. An investigation is ongoing.
