NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The New York Urban League, in partnership with NYUL-Young Professionals, will host its annual college fair but expand access to include employers at Saturday's 11 a.m. event.
Organizers said the fair in Riverside State Park at 679 Riverside Drive and 145th Street will offer students access to meet with HBCU, CUNY/SUNY admissions representatives, alumni and staff, along with resources for college and scholarship support from partnering organizations.
Lincoln, Hampton, Morehouse, Clark Atlanta, South Carolina State, Xavier, and Delaware State are some of the notable HBCU schools included.
Some schools will also offer on-site admissions, fee waivers as well.
The NYUL said it is encouraging job seekers to attend as well with plans to feature its corporate partners and recruiting staff from Fidelis Care, AvalonBay Communities, Salesforce, the Yankees and the National Grid.
Representatives from Audacy, the parent company of 1010 WINS and WCBS 880, will be present at the job fair.
For more than 34 years, the fair has provided 1,462 students with admission on-site, 2,315 fees waivers and over $1.1 million awarded in scholarships.
Through the resources touted by organizers, students could gain the opportunity for early admittance to many highly competitive institutions for Fall 2022.
The fair will conclude with an "authentic HBCU Experience," which will include a panel of current students and recent alumni and will be hosted by a Spoken Word Artist, Tap dancer and Divine Nine unity stroll.
Attending seniors or recent graduates are required to pre-register at NYUL College & Career Fair 2021 and to find out more about the fair. Anyone participating must provide proof of vaccination.
