NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials are on the scene of an apparent gas explosion that occurred at a three-story residential building in the Bronx on Thursday, injuring several people.
Authorities were called at 3:23 p.m. for a trauma at a home located at 1520 Paulding Avenue, FDNY said.
There were nine people injured in the explosion, according to the FDNY.
Two civilians were seriously injured, six others suffered minor injuries including one firefighter. They were transported to Jacobi Hospital.

One person suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention.
The explosion occurred on the second floor and was placed under control at 4:21 p.m., officials said.
Gas has been shut off and the building has been evacuated as Con Edison continues an investigation.
