Person dies of possible carbon monoxide poisoning inside Queens building: FDNY

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- One person died of possible carbon monoxide poisoning inside a building in Queens on Wednesday, the FDNY said.

Emergency personnel responded to a 911 call reporting an unconscious person inside a building at 54-19 Flushing Avenue, near 54th Place, in Maspeth around noon on Wednesday, the department said.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, the FDNY said. A reading detected high levels of carbon monoxide inside the building, the department noted.

Authorities didn’t immediately release the person’s name or age. An investigation is ongoing.
