NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- At least two dozen subway cars across six lines were vandalized over the weekend with graffiti including caricatures of the Mad Hatter from "Alice in Wonderland," the MTA said.

Subway cars on the Q, G, M, 1, 6 and the 42nd Street Shuttle were targeted by vandals, the agency said.

"We have a zero-tolerance policy for vandalism, which takes valuable time, resources and taxpayer dollars away from the system at a time when the MTA is facing the worst financial crisis in its history," said NYC Transit Interim President Sarah Feinberg. "Our cleaners work around the clock to remove the graffiti when it is found so we can keep our full fleet in service and avoid disruptions for customers."

One M train was seen with extensive artwork including a nude Betty Boop with flames shooting from her eyes while smoking, a cannabis leaf, a giant white rabbit and a Mad Hatter spray-painting mushrooms.

Another car was colorfully covered with the word "DIMEBAG" across it.

The train was discovered just before 5 a.m. on Monday during a pre-service inspection in Queens, according to an internal report The City first reported.
