NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – The Mets on Friday unveiled their New York-inspired City Connect jersey, which will be worn by players this season and is available for purchase by fans.
The unforms pay homage to "everything that makes NYC the greatest city in the world," said Mets chief marketing officer Andy Goldberg.
"From the bridges to the trains to the streets, Mets fans across New York and beyond can wear this streetwear style look with pride," Goldberg said.

The black and gray jerseys—and matching caps—honor the concrete city's "grit and grind," the team said in a press release.
To launch City Connect in a truly New York way, the Mets enlisted some help from an array of New Yorkers to lean into the if you know, you know (IYKYK) moniker, but with a New York twist with BMX legend Nigel Sylvester, music producer Large Professor, artist Futura 2000, New York jeweler Greg Yuna, influencer Jaeki Cho and actor/writer Anthony Ramos – all who can be seen in the hype video here.

The jerseys were inspired down to the details: circles and diamonds honoring the subway system form pinstripes on the jersey; the sleeve patch takes its cue from the old school subway token; and purple weaved throughout is a nod to the 7 line, which stops at Citi Field. The jersey also includes details celebrating the subway map and the Queensboro Bridge.
The Mets will wear the City Connect jerseys at every Saturday home game throughout the season beginning April 27, except June 1, the team said.

For the first week of launch, April 19–27, fans can purchase the City Connect products in-store and online at the Mets Team Store, as well as at MLBShop.com, Nike.com, Nike Retail Stores and the MLB Flagship Store in NYC.
After the initial on-sale period, products will be available at additional retail stores.
