NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An NYPD officer has been disciplined after images surfaced of her riding in uniform on the back of a dirtbike in Brooklyn, according to police.
Officer Donna Scott has been suspended without pay after images and video showed her smiling and on the dirtbike as the operator popped a wheelie along Banker Street in Brooklyn.
Scott joined the force in 2019 and is assigned to the 83rd Precinct, city records show.

The user who posted the footage, @chad__5, wrote in a follow-up post that he had “nothing but respect” for Scott.
“Usually cops and bikers don’t mix, but she actually took the time to get to know us and get a better understanding of the culture. The smile on her face says it all,” the user wrote.
“This was a huge first step to bridging the gap between us. To the officer who took her time out to understand, thank you on behalf of the entire bike life community,” @chad__5 added.

The footage surfaced on Instagram days after Mayor Bill de Blasio vowed to crack down on illegal dirtbikes and ATVs. The mayor held a press conference at a Staten Island landfill last week where he watched as 50 of the vehicles were ceremonially crushed.
The dirtbikes, which are legal to own, are illegal to operate on city streets.
“Don't even think about [riding a dirtbike], because the NYPD will find it and we'll crush it. It’s as simple as that. We're not playing games,” de Blasio said at the time.
