NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The 96th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade kicked off at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
The parade, of which 1010 WINS is the official radio station, will follow a 2.5 mile route south through Manhattan, starting on the Upper West Side and ending at Herald Square near the flagship Macy’s department store in Midtown.

Parade organizers expected about three million spectators viewing the 27 balloons, 31 floats and performances by major celebrities.
Mariah Carey, Jimmy Fallon, Paula Abdul, the Roots and Gloria Estefan will all perform this year.

The parade will be televised on NBC, Telemundo and Peacock.
Weather is expected to be good for New Yorkers who want to see the parade in person, with temperatures breaking into the low 50s and light winds.
