NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Nearly 20 pizzerias across the U.S. -- including at least 8 in the tri-state -- have joined forces for Monday's "Slice Out Terror" campaign, donating $1 from every pizza slice to the non-profit Friends of the Israel Defense Forces.
Friends of the IDF is a non-profit organization dedicated to provided services to wounded veterans and the families of fallen soldiers.
"Slice Out Terror" is one of many initiatives created in response to Hamas' Oct. 7 terror attack in southern Israel, during which it slaughered 1,400 civilians and soliders and kidnapped more than 200 people, largely from their homes and the Nova music festival.
In NYC, the participating pizzerias are Brooklyn's Dagan Pizza, Fialkoff's Piza and Slices of Brooklyn.
On Long Island, the participating pizzerias are Fialkoff's Pizza locations in Lawrence and Woodemere.
New Jersey's participating pizzerias include Slices of Deal in Deal and Zevy's Pizza in Fair Lawn.
And in Hudson Valley, Casa Cava in Monticello is participating in the initiative.
Flyers for the initiative feature two slices of pizza positioned like a Star of David.
Ben Yehuda Pizza in Silver Spring, Maryland, was one of the organizers of the initiative.
"We believe in the power of unity and community," Josh Katz of Ben Yehuda Pizza said. "Every slice sold during ‘Slice Out Terror’ will make a tangible difference and show our unwavering support for those fighting for peace and security."
Other pizzerias taking part in "Slice Out Terror" are located in South Florida, Los Angeles, Denver, Philadelphia and Maryland.
